My co-worker and good friend, Johanna, and her husband of 20 years, John, have been going through some real turmoil lately. John is diabetic and needs a new kidney (and possibly a pancreas). He has been feeling terrible for several months now and has been able to squeak by without dialysis so far but probably only for a few more months. They have some amazing friends and family members who have offered to donate and, unfortunately, have each failed one or another of the criteria to be a donor. Johanna and John are in their 40's and have a son in 8th and a son in 10th grade.

Most recently, Johanna & John have been looking into a "paired exchange" program. For this, Johanna would donate her kidney to a stranger in return for a relative or friend of that stranger donating his/her kidney to John.

Please keep my friends and their boys in your prayers in hopes that they will have some good news soon and find a donor! Also, if you can, please consider making a monetary donation to this incredible family to help reduce the financial burden that they are facing!
